Travel Insurance

If you are intending to spend some time in our holiday home then you might want to take out some travel insurance because things could go wrong.  For example you could have an accident or become ill before or during your holiday or you could have money or luggage stolen and your family may need to fly out to be with you if there is a serious incident while you are away.

Lanzarote Airport  Lanzarote

It is not a condition of booking with us that you hold travel insurance but it could help you in such situations.  If you should have to cancel your holiday for reasons outside our control then we cannot guarantee that we will refund any money that you have paid to us.  Our basic rule of thumb is we will refund your money if we we can obtain a replacement booking for your original period, less any expense we might have incurred in doing so.   We'll do our best to help and obviously the earlier you cancel the more chance you have of getting some or all of your money back.  At the time of writing we have only retained payment from one party who cancelled, due to illness, and they did so on the day they should have departed.  In that case they recovered their money from travel insurance.  So, it was obviously beneficial to them.

Up up and awayMost charter airlines insist that you have appropriate travel insurance to fly with them.  Some, but not all, offer it at the time of booking but you do not need to take up their offer if you do not want to.

Instead you can purchase cover from various places including online sources, most insurance brokers and the Post Office.  If you intend to travel more than once in a twelve month period then it might be beneficial to take out an annual policy instead of single trip cover.

We are not an insurance broker, just a UK family, but you should be able to find appropriate travel insurance to satisfy your needs.
